Getting to Isla Mujérés

Before you leave visit www.bestday.com or www.cancunvalet.com and arrange airport pick up and return with them.

PRINT THIS PAGE AND BRING WITH YOU!

Cancun Airport is our nearest international airport with many daily flights from North America and Europe. Gather your luggage inside the airport and then head outside to make your way to the ferry, you can purchase a taxi ticket right inside the taxi stand, there will be all kinds of people willing to take you. Here are a few options:
1. To go to the ferry directly, hire a taxi - ask for Grand Puerto Cancun.
2. Climb aboard one of the vans going to Grand Puerto Cancun, it will be making a few stops along the way but will also give you a little tour of Cancun.

Grand Puerto Cancun is a modern facility with money exchange, food services, including McDonalds, Subway and coffee shop plus a small supermarket. Our experience has been that the exchange rate is typically the same as on the island, so if you need some pesos it is a good place to get them. The ferry leaves every 1/2 hour and there are plenty of porters to help you to the ferry. Cost of ferry is approximately $3.50 US and is about 15 minutes to cross. The ferry is a high speed catamaran, you can ride inside or on the top to enjoy the incredible view of Cancun and Isla Mujérés and of the beautiful blue waters.

More porters will be on the other side waiting to help you. As you exit the terminal you will find a taxi stand to the left. You may have to wait in line and a taxi manager will give you directions to your cab. Taxi fare should cost $6 to $7 US to the Casa.

Getting to the Casa
Direct your taxi driver to take you to Garrafon. He/she may or may not speak english. Once you pass the round-about keep your eyes open for a sign that says Punta Sur Villas. This sign is about one mile down the road, on the left side. Turn right, you will see a little hotel called La Joya. Turn down the road and Casa de los Amigos is on your left hand side. If you reach the Garrafon Park, you have gone too far. You need to take these directions with you when you go, do not count on the taxi driver to know where the house is.
